May is Preeclampsia Awareness Month


Earlier this month I had the privilege of being interviewed by EverEden to discuss what women should know about preeclampsia. In addition EverEden also interviewed one of my patients who was hospitalized for several months because of complications of preeclampsia. She does an amazing job sharing what a murky and long journey the road through preeclampsia can be.

Nipple confusion

Complications related to preeclampsia is the number one reason for babies to be born prematurely and the number one cause of maternal mortality in the United States. Since I work as a Perinatal Nurse and Lactation Consultant, preeclampsia is something I see quite often.
